Innovative Flower Re-Use Program for Area Nursing Homes and Rehab Facilities

MANAHAWKIN, NJ: As part of an effort to brighten the lives of others and put gently-used wedding flowers to good use after their big day, Enchanted Celebrations has established the Flower Power program.

Following each wedding that Enchanted Celebrations is part of, the company will seek permission from the bride and groom to have the newlyweds’ wedding flowers donated. Upon approval, Enchanted Celebrations will pick up the flowers the day after the wedding and deliver them to a local nursing home, rehabilitation center or other in-patient care facility.

“We’re excited to establish and offer Flower Power in New Jersey,” said Alex Karas, Executive Director of Enchanted Celebrations. “This program will bring happiness to folks who could use a pick-me-up. It’s a credit to our brides and grooms that their willing to share a bit of their wedding day love and joy, in the form of their wedding flowers, with a larger audience,” he stated.

The program hopes to deliver its first round of flowers during the weekend of March 13-14. Wedding parties in Toms River, Galloway and Tinton Falls that weekend will have the option of donating their flowers to the Flower Power program. Participating wedding parties will have their flowers delivered to local nursing home or similar care facilities the day after the wedding celebration.

The program is the first of its kind in the Garden State. Flower Power will brighten the lives of others, as well as put wedding flowers that typically end up in the garbage the day after the wedding back into productive use.
